From Bora to Burgundy
After three years of successful charter, we have said goodbye to the Brovig Bora and are now chartering a new vessel, the Clipper Burgundy. She is a 3,500 dwt B-class chemical tanker, named after one of the best known wine regions in France – ironic really, given our industry’s strict ‘no alcohol on board’ policy!
We have the Burgundy on time charter from Nordic Tankers, who recently took over the Clipper Group’s commercial tanker division. We took great care when sourcing this vessel – she is fully major-approved and meets all industry safety and technical standards.
For our Commercial Manager, Lorna Wilson, the transition from Bora to Burgundy was smooth and presented no great surprises. This is because, prior to joining the Geos Group, Lorna used to work at Clipper’s UK office and chartered out the very same vessel to other cargo carriers. She knows the ship well, knows the captains, and can ensure that all aspects of the ship’s day-to-day operations are handled smoothly and efficiently.
The Clipper Burgundy’s home port is Immingham and regularly sails to Aberdeen, Peterhead, Scapa Flow, Peterhead, Rotterdam, Tees and Thames.
We welcome both Masters and crew to Sea Tankers, and look forward to their continuous support throughout the charter.
